The Quality Engineering Transformation: A 4-Step Blueprint for Scaling Change
Our company realized the need to transform from a Testing Center of Excellence to a Quality Engineering Group. Over the past three years, we have developed a proven methodology for upskilling testers and redefining quality ownership. In 2025, we expanded our Quality Engineering transformation program to our Asia IT teams. Leveraging our lessons learned and practical insights, we are enabling our testers to embark on their own journey towards achieving holistic quality.
Through our Quality Engineering Transformation Program, we successfully transformed 100+ testers supporting over 100 applications into quality engineers, achieving remarkable results: a 1200% improvement in cost avoidance, a 40% increase in test artifact reusability, and defect leakage maintained under 1%.
In this talk, you will learn about:
- The anatomy of our QE Transformation Program – including the curriculum framework, competency model, and certification process that successfully upskilled 100+ testers
- Our proven four-step approach – Assessment, Onboarding, Training/Coaching, Graduation – with real examples from our implementation
- Why coaching is the cornerstone of lasting transformation and how we structured our coaching model to drive behavioral change, overcome resistance, and maintain momentum beyond classroom training
By sharing our four-step approach, emphasizing the critical role of coaching, and detailing the components of our QE Transformation Program, we hope to inspire and guide other companies facing similar challenges. Whether you are struggling to gain executive buy-in, unsure how to measure transformation success, or trying to maintain momentum after initial training, this session will equip you with practical strategies to overcome these obstacles.
